1952 Press Photo United Nations commemorative stamp by artist Jean Van Noten

New York - United Nations postal administration released, May 6, this photograph of an artists drawing of the design chosen for the first United Nations commemorative stamp. Design, the work of Mr. Jean Van Noten, depicts the Veterans War Memorial building in San Francisco where the United Nation's charter was signed on June 26, 1945. The vignette will be surrounded by a border with the words "United Nations in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1952.
