Hand made by Pelham Puppets in the early 1950's [ could possibly be late 1940's ].
A rare survivor from the early days of Pelham production.
Solid wood head with functioning mouth. The jaw is strung with elastic thread through the head, a string with a brass ring would have been attached to this through a hole in the chin but, is now sadly missing, could easily be restored.
Original red felt tongue in mouth.
Solid wooden disc ears.
Large wooden bead nose.
Beautifully hand painted, minor damage to eyes [ could easily be restored ].
Fabric sleeve costume is clean and in very good condition, no moth damage or fading.
Lovely burgundy ribbon bow tie in very good condition.
Felt braces and buttons in very good condition, no moth damage or fading.
Thick felt hat in very good condition, no moth damage.
Hair made from sheepskin is full and in very good, clean condition.
A remarkable glove puppet of which very few still survive.
Will be packed very securely in a plain brown card box.
