Budgie was one of the most iconic and underrated Prog/Metal bands of all time and that's why I'm listing several of their LP's for sale and most are in Excellent condition. This rare original LP is called Best Of Budgie and it was perhaps released in the belief that the band had peaked with their "Never turn your back on a friend" album, MCA records decided it was time to cash in on Budgie's success to date with this collection of songs. Kicking things off in stylish fashion: what better opener could there be than the timeless "Breadfan"? Famously covered by Metallica, it can be done no better justice than by hearing it pure, uncut and in its original style. Once Tony Bourge's unforgettable opening riff cuts through your speakers like a razor, you know it's time to air-guitar till your fingers drop off. One of heavy metal's true classics.  Throughout the duration of this compilation, there are satisfying moments of glory which feel fluid and deliberate , the one/two punch of "In For The Kill" and "I Can't See My Feelings" makes for a great duo of hefty 70s heavy metal goodness. The epic and melancholy "Parents" is followed by "Hammer & Tongs" and the rocking "I Ain't No Mountain". This album is bookended suitably, as the final track rears its monstrous head with "Zoom Club" which is so awesome, opening subtly with a mid-paced groove and some laid-back, clean guitar strums and then bursting into wild dissonance and a stomping riff. The verses rock, the chorus soars, the guitar solo shreds, and the riff before the solo is 'Metal 101' !
