Aus schwarzer Basalt Keramik

Beschreibung
Wunderschönes, sehr seltenes 2teiliges Set:
Eine Teekanne oder Kaffeekanne mit zugehörigem Filter aus schwarzer Keramik.
Das Material sieht zwar aus wie Pressglas dürfte aber sog. Jackfield Basalt Keramik sein.
Die Kanne ist in sehr aparter Gestaltung und sieht in Wirklichkeit besser aus als auf den Fotos,
da sich das Tiefschwarz nur sehr schwer fotografieren lässt.
Der Henkel und Ausgießer sind aus glatter glänzender Oberfläche, der Korpus hingegen ist geriffelt
und hat ein nur zart gemusterten Band um die Mitte.
Der Boden ist vertieft und hat einen Stellrand. Ungemarkt.
Eine Hersteller-Marke konnte ich nicht finden, jedoch stammten diese Art von
schwarzem sog. Jackfield bzw. oft aus dem viktorianischen England.
Ein sehr schönes und seltenes Sammlerstück, das nicht nur für Gothik-Liebhaber
sondern auch für Sammler von antiker Keramik und Pressglas interessant ist.

Zustand:
Insgesamt sehr schöner Erhaltungszustand.
Leichte Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren, die für ca. 140 Jahre alte Stücke normal sind.
Die Kanne hat leider an der Schnaupe / Ausgießer 3 kleine Chips. Diese fallen jedoch nicht sehr auf,
da alles schwarz und dunkel ist.
Leider fehlt der Deckel. Vielleicht lässt sich ein Ersatzdeckel finden.
Wie dieser aussehen könnte, siehe letztes Foto von einem gleichartigen Set, das derzeit auf Ebay angeboten wird (nicht von mir).

ENGLISH Description ⁄ Condition:
This sale is for a set of two charming 19th century Victorian pieces:
A tea or coffee pot, and a filter for tea or coffee.
They are made of glazed black basalt pottery ⁄ ceramic.
They look much better "in person" than in the photos.
Known as Jackfield Pottery, which also came to be known by other names such as
"Shining Black", Jet ware, Blackware, or Japanned ware.
The name comes from the town of Jackfield, Shropshire, where Richard Thursfield and
his son Maurice started producing it during the early and mid 1700's.
Other potters from Staffordshire soon followed suit, each perfecting the manner in their
own way - most notably Wedgwood, Greatbatch, as well as Thomas Whieldon (1719-1795)
of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.
Condition:
Rare pieces in great, age commensurate condition.
The tea pot is missing its lid (see last photo of what it is supposed to look like)
and it has 3 small chips at the spout, see photos.
The filter is undamaged, minimal signs of use.
Size:
The tea pot is about 3 1/2" tall and about 6 1/2" wide (from spout to handle).
Volume of each: about 400 ml
