A: It's how the sole is made.. Kind of a composite... Bubbly.. If you have problems with your feet or stand or walk a lot.. Buy them!! Best shoe ever and is washable, hang dry.

My understanding is that is it an injection molded material used in many athletic shoes -- the following I copied fright from a mini brochure in the Skechers box of one of my pairs - "The midsole has been made from the Resalyte Technology which has been engineered to ensure tons of comfort. This midsole dissipates the shocks upon impact to deliver you luxurious comfort and shock free ride." - and from my experience that is exactly what it does.
