Here is a very unusual coat of arms or heraldic shield with rampant lion and dragons under crown set in a foliate carved wood plaque, with origin labels attached to back . Surface is gold leaf covered gesso over wood, with extensive loss/peeling of gesso, painted colors faded from extensive age. 20” tall. Likely 18th century or very early 19th century. Photos show gilding and colors brighter than actual due to flash photography . Offered as found with age associated wear, fading and losses. Please see photos for condition.
