Decals: The sheet contains decals for four Luftwaffe Focke-Wulf Fw 190A aircraft serving withJagdgeschwader 1 (JG 1), a Fw 190A-6 serving with 2 Staffel JG 1 (2./JG 1) thought to have been flown by Luftwaffe Ace, Leutnant (Lt) Anton-Rudolf Piffer based at Arnhem-Deelen, Netherlands in the summer of 1944, a Fw 190A-6 serving with 2./JG 1 flown by an unknown pilot, a Fw 190A-5 serving with 5./JG 1 flown by Luftwaffe Ace, Hauptmann (Hptm) Dietrich Wickop who was Killed in Action (KIA) on 16th May 1943 and a Fw 190A-7 serving with 1./JG 1 flown by Luftwaffe Ace, Hptm Alfred Grislawski.

 

Includes Black serials Werknummern (W.Nr.) for the tail surfaces, one part White, edged in Black, and two part Black and Red and White and Black aircraft codes, two part White and Black fuselage rank insignia, nose art in the form of art work of an "eagle in flight" for the fuselage sides of the 5./JG 1 Fw 190A-5, 2./JG 1 Fw 190 aircraft markings in the form of Black checks or the ‘chess board’ scheme Schachbrettmuster, in eleven parts, to be placed on Red painted nose surfaces to form the Red and Black checks, Black decal blocks to make good any damage when applying the Black checks, Red “tatzelwurm” 5./JG 1 unit  markings for the nose surfaces, JG 1 unit badges, a complete set of data/stencils including the White dashed wing walks, Red Nicht betreten titles, two part Octane markings etc, several styles of balkenkreuz for the fuselage and wing surfaces and Luftwaffe tail insignia.

 

There are sufficient decals to complete one of the four Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft from the sheet in full. All the JG 1 Fw 190's are finished in RLM 74/75 uppers over RLM 76 lowers with a mottle of either RLM 74/75 or RLM02/74 over the fuselage sides. The two 2./JG 1 Fw 190s are finished with the Black and controversial Red checked nose surfaces as described above, "Black 3" also has a RLM 04 Yellow lower cowling.  The 5./JG 1 Fw 190 also has a RLM 04 Yellow lower cowling. The 1./JG 1 Fw 190 has a Red Reich Defence Reichsverteidigungsband (RvD) band which will need painting, Yellow lower nose cowling and a White spinner.  The I./JG 1 Fw 190s were known for their highly recognisable horizontal Black and White banded, and subsequently, their Black checked noses. The spinner colours represented the Staffel squadron colours for each of the three Staffel within I Gruppe i.e. with White for 1./JG 1, Red for 2./JG 2 and Yellow for 3./JG 1 - for further information on the I./JG 1 aircraft, search for the Hyperscale feature on Colours & Markings of JG 1's Fw 190A’s. 

 

Also includes four page A4 colour placement guide, showing side and upper profiles and a detailed data/stencil guide.
