Description: A beautiful extremely fine or better banknote from Scotland. This is the 15th December 1948 one pound sterling note issued by The British Linen Bank. The note which is clean and retains quite a bit of its original crispiness is blue and having a red sunburst and denomination spelled out on the front. The paper of the note is imbedded with short threads. The front shows the arms of the bank right of center near the top and seated Britannia center left. The back is blue and shows seated Britannia in the center. The front shows one signature, that of the general manager of the bank at the time. The front also displays the date and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 007321 and it is series K/2. The banknote has no watermark. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a beautiful extremely fine or better. This is a very attractive note showing light handling. The note has one central vertical strong crease. However, the paper is clean and bright with original sheen. Corners show slight evidence of rounding, but are intact and some bumps. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, no splits and no appreciable wear to the edges. Just a beautiful note worthy of a spot in your collection.
