This vintage Steiff hand puppet toy is a rare find for collectors. Made in Germany in the 1960s, by Ferdinand Diehl, for the German magazine HorZu, it features the beloved character Mecki the hedgehog.

Crafted with high-quality mohair and other materials, such as a rubber face, instead of plastic; which was used in later versions.  This toy is sure to bring back fond memories for those who played with it as a child. The attention to detail and the impeccable design make this hand puppet a must-have for any Steiff enthusiast.

There is one little flaw on Mecki's nose, which has simply worn away with time. He has a nice patina on his face, no cracking at all. Other than that he is in excellent condition given that the puppet is over 60 years old! Sadly, Mecki puppets and dolls are no longer made by the Steiff toy company, however, Mecki and his family are known fondly all over Germany.
