Hear 1967 Johnny Mack Lounge Jazz DJ M- 45 - That's Life / It Might have Been
Johnny Mack - That's Life b/w It Might have Been (BAI 5005). Good 1967 Pop Jazz / Lounge release on this label out of Marietta, GA. Mack is a pianist-singer with a thin voice, strongly reminiscent of Bill Anderson, and a brisk touch on piano that lend itself to the breezy lounge vocals of the Sinatra era. His main claim to fame came in 1970 when he was tapped to record the "country version" of the Miller Beer theme song ("if you've got the time, we've got the beer...") On this 45 he is backed by Albert Coleman's Orchestra. Coleman was director of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra who did some big band work, as well as some stuff with Chet Atkins. BAI was Johnny Mack's own imprint. Take a listen to both sides. Record is a DJ copy in M- condition.
