Bound in contemporary quarter calf with marbled boards, and measures approx 27cm x 21.5cm x 1.7cm. The front and rear boards are cracked to spine edges. The hinges are rather rubbed/surface chipped and worn, with small loss to the top and bottom edges of the spine covering, see images. Boards little rubbed. Edges little scuffed (paper touch chipped). Corners touch chipped and bumped. The boards have a touch of movement. Internally, there are ink initials to the front pastedown with a little ink blotting opposite. Lacking the half title page. The frontispiece and title page are a bit foxed and unevenly browned/offsetting. There are further ink initials to the top inner corner of the title page. The plates and adjoining leaves have some similar foxing and offsetting in varying degrees. There is the odd light grubby mark, else, the text leaves are in lovely bright and clean condition.

There are 7 copper-engraved plates and wood-engraved vignette by Thomas Bewick.

Consett was the first Englishman to visit the north part of Lapland.

Packaging
All our books will be carefully and securely packaged in custom made book boxes (The majority of which are produced Carbon Neutral). The Bubble packaging and boxes are all recyclable, and most tape used is environmentally friendly (we are constantly researching ways to reduce our environmental impact without compromising safe, secure and affordable shipping). We aim to send all items within 24-48 hours of payment.
