Some rustic edge imperfection on the top front edge.  Probably an old small chip.   There is NO key for this.  Originally a key could lock the drawers shut.    No key or locking function remains.

This also had brass drawer tags on the fronts.   They are pictured and included - but were removed sometime in the past and kept in a drawer.    Use them again, or not .
