Supertech - Super Jumbo J-747S Ghettoblaster Boombox -"Do the right thing" Movie

One of the popular "GIANTS" in the world of Boombox "GOLDEN 80s", with a distinctive design and rich, melodic and powerful sound (6 speakers – 50 Watts). Created specifically to enable organizations: Disco dance "BATTLES" on the street. Made in Korea for European market. Its analogs are: TECSONIC Super Jumbo J-1, TOREC Super Jumbo J-1, SUPERTECH J-747, LARSEN Q1 and PROMAX J-1.

This SUPERTECH J-747 boombox was made famous in Spike Lee's movie "Do The Right Thing" . The character Radio Raheem in the movie carried this boom box around with him at all times blasting Public Enemy's song "Fight the Power". Radio Raheem's box was badged as a Promax but it is exactly the same box as the Supertech. The Super Jumbo has the classic 80's styling and cool light displays. On May-10-24 at 02:21:12 PDT, seller added the following information:

For both decks, when pressing play ; the capstan is rolling and only one spool of the cassette is moving causing it to chew the cassette. Both decks do Rewind and Forward, but this does not go smoothly and sometimes not moving at all. I think the previous owner tried to repair deck A, found a spool and a gear wheel loose with it, seems to be missing a small spring. Like I mentioned in the description, the tape decks need to be repaired or replaced. If you are able to repair the tape decks, you will have an awesome Ghetto Blaster.
