The SBL is uncommonly well designed, and capable of outstanding music reproduction. The brilliance of this speaker lies in the design of the cabinets and stands. Even today few speakers can match the completeness of this design which integrates drivers, cabinets and stands together.
The cabinet structure comprises three separate enclosures, one for the bass/midrange unit and one for the tweeter, with the third coupled to the bass/midrange enclosure via a precision acoustical resistance. This arrangement provides a very high level of isolation for its drivers and gives the extended low frequency performance and low distortion associated normally with much larger cabinets. The sound is very dynamic and exceptionally suitable for rock music. Those who enjoy live performance music will love having the Naim Audio SBL speakers. They can play at high volumes without distortion.
