Vintage1930s Crane Company Bronze Paperweight Token Coin, Crane Co 75th Anniversary Large commemorative bronze token or coin created in 1930 upon the occasion of Crane Co.’s 75th Anniversary. The bottom side of the coin is marked Medallic Art Co. N.Y. Medallic Art Co. was the first firm in America devoted exclusively to art medal manufacture and has made many notable sought-after art medals. Nice heavy size to use as a paperweight. Obverse of coin features the raised profile of company founder R.T. Crane and the words 1855 Seventy Fifth Anniversary 1930, and the names Crane Co. and R.T. Crane, Founder.  Reverse of coin features: top half: raised image of a large industrial complex with steam rising from some of the buildings. On the buildings in the foreground, the words “Crane Valves & Fittings, Plumbing Materials, Branches in 100 Cities” are stamped. At the top is a scroll with the date 1930. The obverse also features the raised image of a small house or cabin surrounded by the words Chicago, July Fourth, and 1855. At the bottom is a raised laurel wreath. The coin measures a large 63mm (or 2-1/2”) by approx. 1/8 thick. It weighs 110.5gm (or 3.9oz). Beautiful soft patina. There are some marks on the sides of the coin…see photos.
