SPAWN (McFarlane Toys) 1994

Tremor, originally known as Richard Masullo, is a complex character from the Spawn universe. Once a formidable Mafia enforcer associated with Antonio "Tony Twist" Twistelli, the Don of New York, his life took a dark turn when he sought to leave the criminal world behind. Captured and subjected to the experimental Project: TREMOR, he was transformed into a cybernetically enhanced being with superhuman abilities. Despite the physical power this granted him, the project was deemed a failure as Richard's strong sense of free will and his horror at what he had become led him to break free from his captors. Driven by vengeance against the Mafia for the atrocities committed against him and his family, Tremor became a vigilante. His path eventually crossed with Spawn, leading to a tumultuous alliance fueled by a shared enemy in Tony Twist. Tremor's story is one of tragedy, transformation, and the relentless pursuit of retribution.

The first wave of Spawn action figures, released in 1994, marked a significant moment in the collectibles market, particularly for comic book enthusiasts and figure collectors. Crafted by McFarlane Toys, these figures were based on characters from Todd McFarlane's Spawn comic series, which debuted in 1992. The initial lineup included iconic characters such as Spawn himself, with his distinctive red cape and white eyes, and other memorable characters like Violator, Clown, and Overkill. Each figure was designed with a keen attention to detail, capturing the essence of McFarlane's gritty artwork, and they often came packaged with accessories and a comic book, adding value for collectors.
