(Unit 7581 was stationed in Guizhou province during the cultural revolution.)
The Zunyi Conference took place in Guizhou province in 1935, during the Long March. As a result, Mao was elected Chairman of the Politburo, becoming de facto leader of both the Communist Party and the Red Army. The Long March ended at Yan’an, which became the Communist center of China.
