Edited quotes, "Bristling with inspired observations and wild anecdotes, this collection offers a unique insight into the voice and mind of the inimitable

Hunter S. Thompson, as recorded in the pages of Playboy, The Paris Review, Esquire, and elsewhere.  Fearless and unsparing, the interviews detail

some of the most storied episodes of Thompson's life: a savage beating at the hands of the Hell’s Angels, talking football with Nixon on the 1972 Campaign

Trail, and his unlikely run for sheriff of Aspen.  Passionate tirades about journalism, culture, guns, drugs, and the law showcase Thompson's voice at its fiercest.

Arranged chronologically, the interviews present Hunter in all his brilliance and provide an exceptional portrait of his times.  The earliest interview is with ABC

News February 1967.  Some obscure and/or little known or not often seen interviews: a 1972 Boston AM radio station, Australia Spring 1976.  A couple with the

  Canadian Broadcasting Corporation 1967 (?) & 1977, the Commonwealth Times Richmond VA. 1978, Washington Journalism Review 1979, T.O (Toronto) & I-D

Magazines 1986-87, Studio For Men 1989, Primetime Live 1992, NuCity 1995, the Village Voice 1997.  Interviews from various publications and magazines -

George, Arena, Puritan, Esquire, Razor, Publisher's Weekly, Boulder Weekly. TV & Radio interviews - Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the Australian Broadcasting

Corporation, National Public Radio, from online - Bankrate, Freezerbox, Salon."
