Up for sale is an awesome piece of history! This is a nice set of tatami or collapsible armor. This was used by more of the Infantry or foot soldiers. Very cool set of entry level armor. All original to the era. Probably dates late 1700s or early 1800s. Helmet is iron, but the silk strings on the helmet are starting to go. It's currently being supported by string as shown. It displays well, but I'd recommend perhaps re-threading it at some point. The cheek armor has rust as well. The leather and playe tatami armor is also in very nice shape. The sleeves are silk and are starting to loosen in places. This isn't a million dollar set by any means, but if you're looking for a good set of armor to get into collecting this is it. The box is woven straw, and the paint is starting to chip and flake off. Very cool and maybe even battle worn! Box is of course included, armor stand is not!
