1923 THE SUMMERSCALES PRIZE MEDAL 1892 hallmarked .925 silver medal in case - open to offers!

This large 41mm musical (operatic) prize medal weighs 30.34g of hallmarked .925 solid silver, and was privately struck for the Summerscales Prize established in 1892. This mint graded silver medal has adopted a natural stunning petrol blue tone, particularly around the rim.

The edge has been engraved/stamped by hand and states that the prize silver medal was awarded in 1923 to Ada Thomson for her singing achievements as  Contralto ( the lowest female operatic singing voice ).


Condition: Mint struck collector’s grade which is uncleaned with silver hallmarks in original problem-free box and attractive mix of bright silver patina and naturally occurring petrol blue-coloured hues of toning, particularly around the rims.
