1979 Pope John Paul II Visit to Poland copper papal medal – UNC with LUSTRE

This modernist style 45mm bright lustrous copper papal medal was struck in Poland ( Polish People's Republic 1952-1989 ) to commemorate the trip of Pope John Paul II to Poland 2-10 June 1979.


Obverse: Half-figure of Pope John Paul II looking straight ahead, with raised arms, the inscription JAN PAWEL II (John Paul II) at the bottom.

Reverse: Fragment of a boat with a sail, below 2-10 •June•1979, around KRAKÓW - NOWA HUTA - ŁÓDŹ PIOTROWA
