An invitation sent to my Mom and Dad. It has been in a box with other items. However in the process of downsizing I am trying to leave me daughter with a manageable amount. As her souvenir she is getting a letter from the NEWS, New York, Congratulating her grandfather on entire conception and promotion of the Shamrock. Dad passed before my daughter was born.
So this invitation is about 12 In by 9 inches. On very heavy cover like paper stock more like cardboard. The picture of Glenn McCarthy
has come loose but is included and in good condition.
My Dad worked with Glenn in the publishing business too and is mentioned in his biography Corduroy Road.
If you do not know who Glenn is he was an oil driller who made quite a lot oil money and built the Shamrock Hotel in Houston Texas.
I was a big deal and it is often said the Movie, "Giant" was a portrayal of the Opening in Houston.
I have ordered a special envelope to mail it in.
