From the archive of HAROLD VOLLRATH
Known as "K," his interest in trains began as a youth when trainmen at a station near his school in Philadelphia befriended him, led him to Christ, and inspired a love for railroads. He learned to run a locomotive at his grandfather's sugar mill in Louisiana. At age 13 he began taking and trading train photos. He amassed a huge collection of negatives, which appeared in many publications.
