This beautiful pencil drawing of Faust and Marguerite is very reminiscent of Frederic William Burtons' painting of the same title. 

The composition is largely the same with two figures in the background framed by the tree. Marguerite's clothing in Burton's work is very similar although the pose of the figures is different. 

We also see in this version the addition of a staircase to the right of Faust, in Burtons painting in place of the staircase there is a side wall of a building. 

Please note this work is unsigned and I have no provenance that it is by Burton. However this drawing has more than a passing resemblance to Burton's painting.
