A classically elegant sepia watercolour of The Baptistery at Lenno, Como, Italy.

The Romanesque baptistery of St. John the Baptist was built at the end of the 11th century, was constructed using blocks of Moltrasina stone. The building has an octagonal shape, at the top is a small, square bell tower, the interior contains the remnants of the Medieval frescoes and Baroque paintings.

The painting dates from the late 18th century to the first quarter of the 19th century.

The work is unsigned.
