Melissa needs lots of cash and fast, but playing by the rules is getting her nowhere. Enter handsome dragster Dylan, who convinces her to raise the money through an illegal race. "A hotshot, teenage car racer persuades the class president of a small Minnesota high school to gamble on illegal car races to raise money for their school facing closure." "The local highschool is threatened to be closed, unless they collect $200,000. The students' president Melissa struggles to collect the money, but lacks the support from her fellow students. So she accepts when car fetishist Dylan suggests to bet on him in car races against underworld king Phatman. At first everything goes well - too well, but..." VIEWER COMMENT : "Awesome movie for car racing lovers. I could watch this film every day and never get tired of it. A small time drag racer, with little money wins his way in order to keep his school open and win a scholarship to go to college. This action packed flick has great acting, but the action IS the star. Sit back, crack open a cold one and enjoy the ride." VIEWER COMMENT : "Yup, this movie is the first to be written and directed by Stephen Sommers, famed writer/director of "The Mummy", "The Mummy Returns", "Deep Rising" and more. That alone should tell you what to expect, because Sommers' sense of humor is present throughout this film. Mind you, he filmed it entirely with independent funding and so you can pretty much expect minimal special effects (almost none, to be honest), but it's definitely fun to watch. Melissa Hanson (played by the talented but largely unsung Loryn Locklin) is trying to raise money to save her high school from being closed down by the school board but no one will help her. Dylan Malone (Matt Lattanzi) is a smart-but-poor high school student who earns money by drag-racing. Together, he and Melissa hatch a plot to save the school by racing for cash.
