Description

I have for sale an early Royal Worcester polychrome hard paste porcelain set of 6 dessert plates plus a raised cake plate circa 1862-67 from what i was able to find.. if I am wrong please correct me This lovely set of 6 different Royal Worcester display plates is decorated with a blue and gilt border around a central bouquet of wild flowers. The base carries the early impressed Royal Worcester mark without any indication of date typical of pieces from the first few years of Royal Worcester porcelain production between 1862-1867. The plates are 9 inches (23.5cm) in diameter and is in an excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and very little wear to the decoration or the gilt. One plate has some rubbing on the blue border as seen in the picture..some borders near the edges are slightly different in colour.. the bases were obviously mass produced and then everything was hand painted.. The marks are impressed in the plates and almost impossible to read.. there is a number 8933 on all with in red with small marks. The cake stand is 4 1/4" tall and has no visible marks The hand painted botanical prints are in orange, pink, purple and the foliage is green If you are local , I am thrilled for you to pick up but these must be paid for on the eBay sight since eBay collects the local taxes on everything and submits it. I will ship these world wide and they must be insured..
