Among them, Nikkar Poster Colors are used for hand-painted backgrounds in almost all animated films due to their excellent color reproduction, elongation, and compatibility with water.
In an effort to surpass the Nicker Poster Colors, we have adapted them to the colors used in contemporary design, illustration, watercolor, and calligraphy works,
Designer Scalar is the result of our efforts to produce the finest pigments in the Nikkar line of products.
The binder used in Designer Scalar is gum arabic, the same as used in watercolors.
Among these, gum arabic is used for its particularly high transparency so that the colors of the highly concentrated pigments can be used to their fullest.
It blends well when painted on watercolor paper, and its high covering power when painted on color paper allows the colors of the color paper to be filled in.
Unlike transparent watercolors, you can enjoy the direct coloring of pigments.
Designer colors do not have the water resistance feature of acrylic paints, but when applied flat on paper,
Designer Scalar can be applied flat on paper to create a color surface that is extremely even compared to opaque acrylic paints.
