This is a beautiful book with beautiful illustrations. The original copyright date was 1886. It was then copyrighted again in 1914 1928 and 1942. The introduction says that " a series of 400 scenes from the Bible will be found in this volume. A short explanation accompanies each one. In preparing these the writer has endeavored to make them simple enough for little children to understand, at the same time instructive and interesting for those of riper years. "

This book is in good condition for its age. It has a few minor scratches and scruffs on the cover. The picture on the cover has a few rips. Please see pictures. The inside of the front cover and the inside of the back cover have yellowed with age and have a few spots.
