The 1904-S Morgan dollar is similar in Mint State rarity to the 1903-S, despite having nearly twice the mintage (more than 2.3 million coins). This Choice example displays unusually attractive, nearly untoned cartwheel luster, with only a few minute surface ticks that limit the grade. Slight softness is noted on the eagle's breast and the hair above Liberty's ear, but the eye appeal is nonetheless excellent for the issue. NGC has certified only 36 numerically finer representatives.
