Sea Pottery art - Harbour home

Handmade and unique

Pottery, representing nature and simplicity, is a traditional gift for a 9th wedding anniversary.

Genuine, vintage sea pottery & sea glass, collected from beach walks along the County Down coast, Northern Ireland. Each piece is unique, shaped by years of weathering and tumbling in the sea. The pieces haven't been cut or shaped; they are as they came from the sea.

Sea-finds in this picture include an opaque white sea glass boat and  pastel 'made in England' pottery sail.

The house sits on driftwood.

Frame: 20 cm x 15 cm, with glass front

We live just five minutes from where the Belfast Lough meets the Irish Sea. Tides from the Irish Sea have washed the glass, pottery & finds onto the rocky beaches and sandy coves of the County Down coastline. There are 143 shipwrecks around the Belfast Lough and Copeland Islands, as well as historical glass factories along the shores. In 1912, the RMS Titanic sailed down the Belfast Lough, to the Irish Sea for her sea trials.

For lovers of craft who are inspired to give new purpose or space to sea-tumbled glass, wood & pottery
