Vintage Keuffel & Esser Paragon Transit #163767, circa 1959.  Seems to be in very good condition.   I am not skilled in using this devise, but i am happy to try any tests you can advise me about.  The lens glass is in good condition and the cross hairs are intact.  The wheel and all the knobs turn freely.  The paint is in good condition.  There is a little discoloration inside the large glass lens cover but it has not affected the lens.  The white dots you see at the 5 o'clock position in the close-up photos of the lenses are a reflection of my ceiling lights.  The built in level is in good condition.  As you can see in the close-up photo of the level, my table is not.  LOL!!!
i'm probably not going to use the correct terms but hopefully you'll understand what I mean:  Viewing tube is 11" long.  Big lens is 2" diameter.  Wheel is 5.5" diameter.  Viewing window of the level is 1".  Total height including viewing tube is 12.5".  Diagonal distance of screw holes on bottom is 5".  I'm happy to give you any other measurements you'd like.

My Father bought this transit on eBay about 20 years ago.  When he received it the box was badly damaged, so he threw it away (stomping and swearing all the way to the trash and back).  He used this many many times for various projects, so I believe it must still be in good working order.   I will pack it very very carefully for you.
My Father collected several other transits of various types.  If you have interest please ask (they're not listed yet).
