In our humble opinions this would seem to be a good lot for a serious hobbyist that wants to save money.

This is a 376 ct lot of mixed, faceted and cabbed material that was found hidden in an estate closeout of "empty" jewelry boxes. We are not gemologists here so we can not tell you what the specific stones are or where they came from. We cannot tell you if they are natural, treated, mine cut, man made, synthetic or any other detail that would actually be diagnostic.

What we can tell you is what they look like by way of their color and other more obvious features. We also weighed them all.

PLEASE BE AWARE that exact colors may be a bit off because of the idiosyncrasies of the camera we are using. We also note that we have noticed some chips and even broken stones and we know nothing about clarity, inclusions or the like.

Some lots in the collection are entirely faceted and some are entirely cabachons but some faceted lots may have a few cabs. Most of the stones turned upside down as we laid them out and there was too many to turn over so most are shown from their backs. We did not measure any individual stones so the dime is in the photos for comparison.

Amethyst color faceted stones - 11.24 ct

Garnet colored faceted stones - 5.1 ct

Citrine colored faceted stones - 61.4 ct

Opal colored cabs, mosaic, doublets and no back lot - 11.25 ct

Black Sapphire looking cabs - 20.7 ct

White or near white faceted stones which are most likely NOT diamonds - 12.45 ct

Peridot colored faceted stones - 36.45 ct

A sort of pinkish (these do not match the color I see with my eyes) faceted stones - 12.75 ct

Lot of mixed cabachons (some colors fairly accurate, others not so accurate) of unknown materials - 85.2 ct

Aquamarine colored faceted stones - 117.85 ct
