Vintage Pair of Cockatoos on Corn Ceramic Hand Painted Made by Ball Brothers

 

Here are two charming and captivating, beautifully designed and hand painted Cockatoos, each slightly different, one is a talker and the other a listener.  Striking colors of blue, pink, yellow, and brown, they are perched on corn in yellow with green leaves.  By the way, Cockatoos eat corn because of the many health and vitamin benefits, including for their eyes;  the antioxidants in corn make them resistant to many diseases.   Made by Ball Brothers in California, c 1950, one is clearly marked on the bottom ‘BALL BROS – HAND MADE – ART WARE.’

If you are seeking large statement pieces for your décor, these Cockatoos are a conversation starter.  In perfect Vintage condition with some light crazing and with no nicks, chips, cracks, or repairs.  Please refer to the photos for close ups of the marks and condition.  Please excuse any white glare reflections in the photos.
