Daily Mail World Record Net Sale Puzzle in Box, Chad Valley 1920.

An interesting card puzzle that must have been obtained from the Daily Mail newspaper (probably by writing in for it?) over a hundred years ago. It is the Daily Mail World Record Net Sale Puzzle, that comprises 19 similar hexagonal card pieces that have a different colour at each corner, and random orders of the words Daily Mail World’s Record Net Sale, and in the middle is the number 1,206,408. You have to arrange them in such a way that always the colour and the word matches the neighbouring card. Which is REALLY DIFFICULT.

All 19 of the cards are here – all clean and bright. The 4” x 4” x (just over) ¼” box is complete and clean with no splits or other problems. On the underside of the lid there are the Directions. Once you have completed it you have to stick the pieces to a piece of paper and post it in to the Daily Mail by January 3rd 1921.
