It is a quart  light blue in color, no lid. The front of the jar it says MASON'S PatentNov 30th 1858. On the bottom it has a 6. Don't know what this is called but the jar doesn't shrink down like the newer jars. It shrink down to fit the lid.  In good condition no chips, cracks or surface blemishes.
