This stark depiction of a family suffering from hunger was struck on a 32mm bright gilt bronze medal as a piece of political and social history showing how the reparations from the end of WWI was causing a significant impact on inflation in Germany.

The reverse of this high collector’s grade inflation medal shows how the prices  of essential foods like bread costing £1 had risen sharply causing mass hunger across Germany.

There are 3 versions of this medal, with this type being the scarcer to find.
