This item is from Lazarus Department Store . I am unable to verify the information on the tag, but Lazarus was a respectable brand and did sell rarer items in the early 1970s .

This is what the tag states about the Pewter Pint .

Per the Lazarus tag :

Rare GORGE THE FOURTH pewter

FINE TANKARD Height almost 5"

BALUSTER or BULBOUS BODY on a collet foot. The handle has the early curled-up terminal.

On the front is a medallian.

Cast on the medallian is a

ROYAL CROWN.A bit worn but very definitely discernable, left of the Crown is a “G”, right of the Crown is an”R'. Inside the

bottom of the Crown is "IV",

The whole makes "G.B,IV" which of course stands for "George the Fourth", The Medallian was allowed by Royal Warrant only to certain pewterers who served

King George the Fourth or his household with pewterware, We do not attempty to say this tankard was used in the Royal Household, but was made by a pewterer employed by the King.

Tankards with this Medallian appear in several sizes from a Quart down to a Gill or Noggin.

This is a rare speciman,
