The three-pound forging hammer is similar to more traditional styled cross-pein hammers; however, the stepped pein is both aesthetically pleasing and produces a more powerful blow as force is more directly translated through the piece. This style of hammer is commonly referred to as a French Pein; however, this is a common misconception as this particular style has been used widely throughout the Mediterranean for thousands of years. These hammers have been meticulously forged and finish to maintain a pristine forged finish. There are many other hammers on the market but few take the time and attention to detail required to achieve a smooth forged finish. 2.5 lb hand forged hammer. Stuck on a premium hickory handle.
