This is a rare and valuable antique atlas titled "Atlas de Filipinas" published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1899. The hardcover book contains detailed maps and information on the Philippines, including its regions, languages, and cultures. Written by P. Jose Alque, S.J., this original edition is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts of Philippine history and geography. The book is in good condition and is a great addition to any collection of reference books on Asia.

This is a seriously rare atlas of the Philippines first published by the Spanish in 1899 and then by the Americans in 1900.  It includes 30 color maps.  The atlas is about 14 inches high by 12.5 inches wide.  It includes an index of place names, which in and of itself would seem to be a treasure, identifying old communities.  The front material is in both English and Spanish.

I picked this up while I was serving in the Philippines in the late 1990s. I've chosen to take advantage of eBay's policy of allowing up to 24 photographs and have filled this ad with pictures from the atlas.
