Here is a new high quality reproduction of the early Harrison Hexagon Radiator Cores that were commonly used on all GM cars and many other makes from the teens into the early 1930s. Built by the Universal Carnegie Mfg. Company of Carnegie, PA and shipped to a local radiator shop here in California in June of 2005. The customer had the radiator custom made, paid for and shipped to the radiator store but for some reason the radiator core was never removed from the box or used and it has been stored in the radiator shop since then. The owner is cleaning some items out and asked me to help.
The core measure 2-12" thick, 25" tall and 18-5/8" wide. I have a June of 1931 Harrison Radiator Catalog and the only application for this size in the catalog up to June of 1931 would be for 1930 and 1931 Durant automobiles (The top corners would need be angle cut to be used, I have the measurements to do so and can send if needed for the Durant cars). My next Harrison Radiator catalog is a 1949 but does list any radiator sizes before 1936. I believe GM was still using Hexagon Radiators up until 1933 so core could have been made for a 1932 and/or 1933 application but unable to identify. If anyone has a mid 1930s Harrison Radiator catalog and can help identify, I would greatly appreciate the help.
Note: Universal Carnegie Mfg. Company is still in business and I have been told that remakes of the Hexagon cores is made of the correct materials and identical to the original Hexagon cores. They are also a very time consuming process to make. These cores will currently cost well over a thousand dollars to make. Priced to sell.
Please see photos for details. I removed from shipping box to check on condition and to take photos. There is absolutely no damage. I have repacked the radiator and it will be shipped in same packaging as shipped in 2005.
