This Heian Jyo Tsuba is beautifully inlaid with Kikyo (Chinese bellflower).
It has a boar's eye openwork, and when you look at the entire Tsuba from a distance, it looks like a cross-shaped tsuba that was used by Christians.
It is interesting to note that the Samurai culture has a deep relationship with Christ!
