If you are one of the thousands of persons wishing to motorize your bicycle, but don't want to use the adapter that comes in the kit (which requires drilling a hole in lower frame), then here's your answer.

Pretty much all the 2 cycle engine kits available on the market come with an adapter which is used for bikes with larger lower frame. These bikes are typically the newer model Beach Cruisers. Lots of road bike and some mountain bikes can have the kit installed without using the adapter because these bikes have both the seat tube and the lower frame the same size (around 1 inch wide) which is ideal for the engine kits. The new model Beach cruisers however, have a lower frame which is around a inch and a half. Use your own rubber or inner tubes if you wish! FRAME SAVER also available WITH SPECIAL NITRILE RUBBER(check our stores).

As you can see in this photo, the bracket and long bolt that comes with this engine is designed to go right through a hole, which you would drill into your bike's lower frame. Some other bikes, besides the Beach Cruisers also have a larger lower frame, but with irregular shape. NOTE: THE "FRAME SAVER" BRACKET ADVERTISED IS NOT MEANT FOR THESE TYPE OF BIKES! You can pay less and use your own rubber or inner tube with this frame saver. The inner tube is not likely to perform as well as our special Nitrile Rubber, however.

The "FRAME SAVER" bracket can be used with most modern beach cruisers which have a lower frame that's larger than the seat tube. You can use it along with the adapter plate from your kit, or without.

Just use your own rubber insulation to wrap around your bike's lower frame, and then the "frame saver" clamps securely around the rubber mount. You can use some adhesive like the one seen in the photo, or just wrap the tubing around the frame, and then hold in place with a piece of tape. Instructions are included. PLEASE NOTE: The adhesive and tape are NOT included. You can pay less and use your own rubber or inner tube with this frame saver. The inner tube is not likely to perform as well as our special Nitrile Rubber, however.
FITS ALL 2 cycle engines with front mount holes about 1 5/8" (42mm) apart.

As seen in this photo, your final results should look similar to this Schwinn bike. After mounting the "frame saver" on the engine, you would then mount the upper engine mount, then the lower mount would rest over the rubber insulation. Tighten the upper mount a little first (a rubber insulation is NOT included with this Frame Saver), then use a plier or hammer to compress the lower bracket and install the through bolt.

After gradually tightening all the nuts and bolts, you should have a nice, neat and solid product, and what's more is that those insulation would help you achieve a smoother ride with less vibration! You can use a simple pair of spacers, such as the 2 nuts for bikes with taller frames.

So don't ruin your favorite bike by drilling holes if you don't want to! Go ahead and retain the value and integrety of your treasured cruiser by getting one of these jigs TODAY!
