This CD reissue offers us the chance once again to sample the music of maestro Mantovani – the man who, let’s not forget, was selling records by the million long before the Beatles came on the scene. Mantovani Presents His Concert Successes (1970) features a slight twist on the tried and tested format – while the individual tracks were studio-recorded, each is preceded by ‘live’ recordings of Mantovani in concert, announcing each piece to his audience, thereby creating the illusion of actually being at a Mantovani gig. Fascinating stuff! And, of course, all immaculately performed by Mantovani and his musicians. Titles include Charmaine, Moon River, Hora Staccato, Gypsy Carnival, the Overture from Die Fledermaus, and many others.

Remastered from the original analogue tapes. First time on CD.
