British Army 1st Middlesex Victoria Rifles Giles Military Print

This is a beautiful c1890s color lithograph by the English military artist G. D. Giles. His depiction of military scenes renown for their elaborate and intricate military uniform.  Blank on reverse  Does have a reinforced tear in bottom left margin - priced accordingly  - Still a great piece of history

G. D. Giles was born in 1857, in India. He is now best-known as painter of military scenes but he also painted both horse-racing and hunting canvases. He left the army in 1884 to work with Carolus-Duran, a French painter and sculptor. He came particularly to public attention with his paintings of the military campaigns in Sudan and Afghanistan. He also produced a collection of well-known color lithographs representing military costumes.

Measures approximately 7.5" x 9.5"   Image is approx 6" x 8"     great for framing

Condition:  Some foxing and toning.  Blank on reverse

            Does have a reinforced tear in bottom left margin - priced accordingly
