The Sept 06 issue of Trailbike and Enduro Magazine decided to conduct a test of the top 7 brands of moto-x tires.
the 7 tested tires and brands were
Bridgestone Gritty
Dunlop D908
Metzeler Six Days
Michelin Comp
Pirelli Scorpion
Trelleborg Maxi
and the Vee Rubbber VRM 211 tires

After exhaustive rider testing, the Vee Rubber 211 tires were awarded joint 2nd place with Michelin, and earned the best budget buy award

The vee rubber tires were the easiest to fit, and by some margin, set the fastest time of the day, and were the second cheapest set to buy. Regular TBM Tester (and editor) Si Melber thought "they gave great feel straight away and they hooked up really well. There was good grip, even when cranked right over, and there was plenty of feel under braking, even when the rear moves around a bit. They offer plenty of confidence".
Other test riders backed this up by simply stating they were "very good everywhere"

Overall conclusion of the test was that The Vee rubber Second place "could perhaps be considered something of an upset" and that "Vee Rubber tires really did acquit themselves well"
