This is a very good quality chrome fully automatic electric aerial, power antenna manufactured by Hirschmann of Germany. It is the Hirschmann HIT AUTA model.

Hirschmann supplied this type of mid-range aerial to BMW, Ford, Peugeot as original aerial in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Although it is not Hirschmann’s premium AUTA 6000 aerial antenna, which Hirschmann discontinued in June 2015, it is made to Hirschmann’s high standards and is superior to other cheaper after-market aerials that copy it's design, and are now widely available from China, but which have inferior specification, poorer quality chrome plating and are noisier in operation. If you are unhappy with the quality of our aerial it may be returned for a full refund.

This aerial is more suited to older, classic Mercedes models, especially those built prior to 1983, that will have been factory fitted with an aerial antenna with similar adjustable chrome fittings that bolted/screwed down onto the wing/fender panel.

Please note; this is a fully automatic aerial, with microprocessor control so on some early “classic” cars, with a semi-automatic aerial controlled via a manually operated switch, the switch needs to be taken out of circuit, or replaced with an on/off switch.
