With this unpopulated version the data leads may need to be unclipped and pulled forward to be manually inserted into the data ports. Populated Data Ports may be required for certain vehicle models in this range - see compatibility chart below. Data Ports handle important original vehicle OEM functions such as Steering Wheel Controls and MP3 connectors. Even if populated Data Ports are not required for your vehicle model it may be more-convenient to buy a populated lead rather than have to manually move-over the data leads from your vehicle to the SOT lead. We also have a range of INTELLI-SOT leads which include an advanced Automatic Ignition-Sensing device which is designed for use with vehicles on which access to an ignition-switched live power supply is not supported through the vehicle connector. Most cars made in the last 10 years have CAN-BUS or similar electrical systems and do not support an ignition-switched live via the radio connector or have intelligent computerised cigar-lighter sockets that automatically power-down if not in use. Auto Stop/Start cars can also be difficult to find an ignition source. If your kit does not power-up then one of the above will probably be the cause. Please check the information on this page carefully to see whether you will need to manually wire-in an ignition-switched or order one of our INTELLI Automatic Ignition Generators. Please note that our ISO SOT leads are sourced from leading manufacturers and are of the highest quality of design and construction. They should not be confused with other offerings which may suffer from faults resulting from poor design, materials or construction. Possible faults that you should beware: pins not retained fully in receptacles, thin plastic housings, incompatible data ports, flimsy locks. If you are fitting a MusicKit you may need a more-advanced lead than this SOT lead. Many vehicles have amplified or half-amplified sound systems and cannot use a simple SOT lead. For most other vehicles we now have advanced MUSIC-SOT solutions which use AUX-in for music, giving perfect music output to all speakers and supporting OEM display/control.
