Herb - Borage White - Borago officionalis

Herb - Borage White - Borago officionalis. Is very similar to normal borage except the delightful change in the flower colour. The bright flowers attract the bee's who rely on borage as a nectar supply and can cover the plants. The flowers can be used as decoration in cool drinks in the summer. The leaves have a refreshing, mild cucumber flavour and can be used as a garnish in salads, dips, and soups. Borage white does not always grow true to form and will sometimes revert to blue.

When to Sow: In open ground at any time from October to February.

Where to Sow: Will grow in any soil but prefers full sun.

What to do Next: Easy to grow, Borage does well in herb gardens, pots or containers. It prefers full sun, but will tolerate partial shade, and rich, moist soil. Choose a site that is well protected from wind as it is easily blown over and work in plenty of organic matter prior to planting.

Harvest: Leaves any time and the flowers when they are fully open.
