The Yale Virage Cockspur Handle is a proven design with solid construction suitable for PVC-u, aluminium and timber windows that do not have an internal espag lock to secure the window. Cockspur handles are often found on older style windows.
Designed with a slender grip, the cockspur has been engineered with a high quality locking deadlock cylinder for ease of use and long term performance. The Cockspur window handle nose locates and locks over a plastic striker plate fixed to the frame. Securistyle Virage Cockspur Handle can be deadlocked using the supplied key for added safety and security

What do I need to check before ordering a handle?
Left or Right Hand?
First check the hand of your handle, for a top hung window that opens out - if the long part of the handle points to the left and the little spur points down you will need a left hand, if the long part of the handle points to the right and the little spur points down you will need a right hand. For side opening windows - if the long part of the handle points down and the little spur points to the right then you need a left hand handle, conversely if the long part of the handle points down and the little spur points to the left then you need a right hand handle. Which backset will I need?
To measure the backset (stack height) you will need to measure from the baseplate (the part that sits flat against the window) to the underside of the handle nose (please see diagram in gallery).
